Phyllis L. Still Parenteau, 87, of Billings, passed away at her home on Nov. 19, 2010. Phyllis was born in Sheridan, Wyo., to Jay and Olive Biley, the oldest of four children. She grew up on the family homestead. She attended Miller Country School for her early education and graduated from Sheridan County High School.
She married Leo Still in 1942. Three girls were born to this union. She and Leo were avid square and round dancers. Leo died in 1979. She then met and married Mitchell Parenteau, who was also a dancer. She was a secretary and record keeper for the dance club.
After Mitchell died, she traveled with her friend Ron. They were dancing their way around the USA.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; brother Leonard “Bud”; and her sister Shirley. She is survived by her three daughters, Donna (Frank) Bemis, Lucille (Sonny) Carlson and Phyllis Ann (Glyn) Howells; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister Edith McClurg, and several nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at First United Methodist Church. Following a reception, burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary is in charge of services and remembrances may be shared with the family at www.michelottisawyers.com.
