CASPER, Wyo. — Memorial services for Ralph Davis will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard. Inurnment will be at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery.
Mr. Davis, 86, passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, surrounded by his family, in Casper, following a short battle with cancer. Ralph was born Oct. 22, 1923 at Pettibone, S.D.
Ralph served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the Destroyer Samuel Norris Moore. He later worked in the oilfield until 1981, when he and his wife Marie retired to Plains, Mont. He enjoyed many years in Plains and loved to travel to Alaska and across the U.S. visiting his children and grandchildren. When in Alaska, fishing was high on his list of favorite pastimes.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Friesen-Davis; children and their spouses, Sharon (David) Weisgerber of Casper, Kenneth (Rose) Davis of Parachute, Colo., Debbie (George) Karatzas of Wasilla, Alaska, Penny (Samuel) Berthea of Alpharetta, Ga., Peggy (Billy Powers) Davis and Linda (Trent Larson) Girman; sister, Irene (Roy) Drake; 17 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvie John Davis; mother, Ruby Elsie Smith; brothers, Everett and Roy; sisters, Dorothy Davis and May Bray.
