LODGE GRASS — Robert Boyd Bond, 80, of Lodge Grass, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011, in Billings.
He was born in Lodge Grass on Feb. 12, 1931, to Charles and Helen Bond, and had five siblings. Robert grew up and attended school in Lodge Grass. Robert was widowed twice before marrying Ramona Rae (Roth) Smith-Bond on Oct. 22, 2005, in Lodge Grass.
Robert was honorably discharged from the Navy after serving his country for four years during the Korean War. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, fishing and traveling, with a special love for Alaska. He enjoyed life with zeal and determination.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Charles Uhl Bond; mother Helen Pauline (Williams) Bond; his first wife, Juanita (Craig) Bond; his second wife Ella Joan (Groshong) Bond; brother Douglas Ronald Bond and great-grandson Conor Stegner.
He is survived by his wife, Ramona Rae (Roth) Smith-Bond; children, Paula and Yigal Steingiesser of California, Karla and Steve Drongesen of Montana, Eddie Bond and Lynn Bishop of California, Arvel and Viola Ash of Oregon, Sharon Rash of Oregon, Faron Ash of Oregon, Sarah and Don Stearns of Oregon, Esther Ash of Oregon, Rose Ellis of Oregon, Roberta and Casey Cannell of Oregon, Becky and Wayne Torske of Montana, Christie and Richard Benzel of Montana, and Abby and Bruce Hammond of Montana.
He is also survived by his siblings, Viola (Don) Hager of Washington, Lola (Lutie) Barnes of Montana, Karen (Randy) Whitaker of Washington, and Marion (Brian) Lewis of Colorado.
Robert also has 29 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, at Cremation & Funeral Gallery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Big Horn County Museum, Route 1, Box 1206A, Hardin MT 59034.
