BOZEMAN — Robert D. Marta, of Bozeman, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at his home after years of health issues. Bob Marta was born Oct. 5, 1943, in Pasadena, California, son of Jack and Grace Marta. He was a 1966, graduate from Montana State University (Beta Rho Chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity).
Bob worked in the Motion Picture industry as a Camera Operator and was the Founding President of the Society of Operating Cameramen (S.O.C.). During his tenor at the S.O.C., Bob helped countless children through the Children’s Hospital Vision care of California.
After Bob returned to Bozeman he was proud to be a member of the Masonic Bozeman lodge #18 and the Bagdad Shrine. He was honored to have helped thousands of children through the Spokane Shrine Children’s Hospital. Bob is survived by his two daughters Michelle Marta and Amanda McComb, son in law John and their three children.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., May 28, at the Bozeman Masonic lodge #18, 14 S Tracy, Bozeman, MT.
