The Nebraska Huskers lost their biggest fan on Nov. 9, 2008, when Ron passed away peacefully at his home due to an extended illness.
Ron was born on July 23, 1944, to Keith and Helen Lee. He grew up in Shenandoah, Iowa. He married his first wife, Bonnie, and had two children. Although the marriage ended, the two remained friends throughout and spoke on the phone often towards the end of his life.
Ron married his second wife, Ronda, and had four children. The two remained friends after their 26-year marriage ended.
Throughout his life, he remained the strength and the glue that held the family together. He was always willing to help any of his children, whether it was financial or just being a great listener.
Ron worked most of his life as a traveling salesman, having made many friends throughout Montana. His illness forced him to retire from his most recent job at Acusport in 2007.
Ron is survived by his first wife, Bonnie, and their children, Tracy (Chris) Falk, Amy (Todd) Edgar; his second wife, Ronda, and their children, Kimberly (Mike) Rogers, Rodney (Michelle) Lee, Justin (Chelsie) Lee and Michelle Lee. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren. Also surviving Ron is his sister, Sharon Aistrope; nephews, Todd (Mandy) Maher, Jeremy Maher; niece Carrie Aistrope; and numerous extended family members. Ronda's brother, Reverend Herbert Burch, will be officiating the services.
Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 13, at Smith Funeral Chapel, 304 34th St. West, at 1 p.m.
