Roy E. Krebill, 80, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at the Billings Clinic, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in a barn, March 9, 1928, in Rothiemay, Mont., at the base of the snowy mountains, the son of Elmer and Martha Krebill. His family made their home in the Hillcrest-Blue Creek community in 1932, where Roy attended grade school and then finished in Billings.
After many years of searching, Roy met the love of his life, Esther Iverson. They were married in May of 1959 and nearly celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Roy and Esther made their home in the Blue Creek area, where they farmed and ranched for many years. Roy always had great respect for the land he worked and the animals he cared for.
Roy spent his last years caring for his dear wife and making close friends at Aspen Meadows where she resided. His strong Christian faith and love of God sustained him through life.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife Esther, Dec. 2, 2008; his parents; and two sisters Myrtle and Bernice. He is survived by his two sisters, Gladys and Thelma and their families; son Randy (Karen) Krebill; daughter Karen (Sam) Jones; grandchildren, Paul, Dalton, Colter, Jacob, Brett, Morgan and great-grandchildren Natalie and Koleman.
