YUMA, Ariz. - Former Billings resident Selma Fastje, 83, passed away Jan. 20, 2009, in Yuma.
She grew up in Havre, Mont., and married Fran Fastje, Sept. 10, 1943. They moved to Billings in 1953, owning Fran's TV until retirement in 1975. Because of her Parkinson's disease, she joined the European Health Spa and progressed to become an instructor until they moved to Yuma in 1981. In Yuma, they enjoyed supplying family and friends with fruit from the trees they nurtured until Fran passed away in 2006.
Selma is survived by daughters Lynda Downs of Arizona City and Bonnie Jo Pollock of Crowley, Texas; sister Della Sohm of Big Sandy; brother Floyd Brower of Roundup, Mont.; granddaughters, great-granddaughter, nieces and nephews, and her faithful caregiver for the past year, Alvina Mosely.
