Sharon McHenry, surrounded by family and friends, passed peacefully on March 16, 2013. Sharon was born on March 31, 1941, in Roundup, Mont. She was the second of four children born to Virgil and Mabel Cross. Sharon graduated from Roundup High School in 1959 and remained close friends with many of her classmates. After graduation, she spent a summer working in Yellowstone Park and then went on to college in Billings for business. She met and married her husband, Merle, in Livingston, Mont., in 1962 and they welcomed four children into their world, Virgil, Joann, Kathy and Mike. Sharon and Merle enjoyed raising their family in the little house on Horsethief Creek Road until Merle’s passing in August of 1974.
Sharon spent 30 years working for the Roundup school system and made many lifelong friendships there. She also worked at the Busy Bee, was a home healthcare aide and enjoyed being a ticket taker at the sporting events. Her most recent endeavor was Foster Grandparenting at Roundup Central School, which she very much enjoyed.
Sharon was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt and never missed a sporting event. She was always on the go, whether it was baseball, football, basketball, cheerleading, swim team or volleyball. She was also an avid bowler and a wonderful cook. Mom was always up for anything and always there for a friend. Her family was the light of her life.
