ROY — Sharon Rose Yarbrough-Hemsing, 75, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Saint Vincent Healthcare in Billings.
Sharon was born in Gainesville, Texas, on Sept. 10, 1937, to Clarence and Doris (Humphery) Wheeler. She attended school in Texas, graduating from Highland Park High in Dallas.
Sharon married S.M. “Bunk” Yarbrough and had three children. Her family moved to Denver, Colo., and then to Montana in the ‘80s, as Bunk was an independent oil man. They later divorced.
Sharon met and married Jack Hemsing on Jan. 3, 1979. They resided in Billings, where Jack worked for numerous country clubs as a chef. They later purchased the Hackmore in Lewistown. After semi-retiring, they moved to Roy. Sharon enjoyed going on road trips with her mom and Jack. She also took stained glass and cake decorating classes with her daughter Diane; and she had the most popular after school address for all of Richard’s friends.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; her children, Diane (Robert) Skillestad of Billings, Richard (Rene) Yarbrough and their children Hayden, Shelby and Jordan, of Billings, and Laura (Jim) Savage and their daughter Rachel of Dallas, Texas; and Jack’s son, John Eric Hemsing of Trondheim, Norway.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Billings Humane Society.
At Sharon’s request, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, April 6, from 2 to 4 pm., at the American Legion in Roy.
