ROCKLAND, Wis. — Tanner N. Benson, 26, of Rockland, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at his home. He was born on Jan. 29, 1986, in Wolf Point, Mont., to Dennis and Pamela (Coleman) Benson. He grew up in Wolf Point and graduated from Wolf Point High School. He then attended Full Sail Real World Music Institute in Orlando, Fla.
Tanner moved back to Montana to be with his band and pursue his passion for music. He also worked as a cook. He moved to Rockland in February 2012 to be closer to family. Music was his love, he was an excellent drummer and enjoyed writing songs. He also enjoyed skateboarding and loved his dog, Boo.
Tanner is survived by his parents, Dennis and Pamela of Rockland; his sister, Britany also of Rockland; his paternal grandmother, Judy Benson of Winona, Minn.; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Montana.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hollie and Erna Coleman; paternal grandfather, Irvin Benson; and an uncle, Wayne Benson.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 12 noon at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Reverend Randy Williamson officiating.
