Theodore Heit, 81, passed away on Nov. 11, 2008, at the Horizon Hospice Home in Billings. He was born on Feb. 22, 1927, the son of Fred and Katherine (Rott) Heit in Hysham.
Ted joined the U.S. Army in 1945. Upon his honorable discharge from the service, Ted worked for the state of Idaho as a snow plow driver. He later moved to Billings and began a 25-year employment with Yellowstone County Implement as a mechanic. Upon retiring from YCI, he owned a couple of repair shops in Worden.
In 1970, Ted was united in marriage to Marilyn Black and their combined families totaled 10 children. They moved to Whitehall in 1978 and purchased a ranch, where they raised the children. In 1985, they moved back to the Worden and Billings area, where he has resided since. Marilyn died the first day of spring in 2002.
