Tyler Jay "TJ" Soapes, 21, of Billings, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, just before midnight, of complications from a heart valve replacement.
He was born in Fayetteville, N.C., on April 27, 1987, to Debby (Fortune) and Richard Soapes, Jr. He attended Miles Avenue School, Riverside Junior High and West High School.
TJ was an avid guitar player who loved music. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was always the life of the party and had hundreds of friends. His kindness and generosity will be missed. TJ was precious and endearing to us all, and will be remembered forever by all his family and friends.
TJ is survived by his mother, Debby (Cliff); his father, Richard; brothers, Asia, Kory and Noah; sister Tia; grandparents, Sharon and Richard, Sr., Bob and Beth, grandma Sue and great-grandfather Bill; aunts and uncles, Bobbi and Tim, Tracy and Jason, Wayne and Michelle; niece, Kieriana; numerous cousins and his favorite cousin Kristofer.
A viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at Cremation & Funeral Gallery. A celebration of TJ's life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, at the Billings Depot, 2310 Montana Ave.
