Virginia Helen Scott of Billings passed away Jan. 12, 2012, at Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, Colo. after a short illness. She was born Jan. 26, 1930, in Sioux Rapids, Iowa to Vern and Helen Phillips.
Virginia served as the Dietary Supervisor at Buena Vista County Hospital, Storm Lake, Iowa and later at Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale, Colo. She enjoyed making quilts that she shared with family and friends, working crossword puzzles in the daily newspapers, and was a voracious reader her whole life.
She is survived by two brothers, Bruce (Bernice) Phillips of Roberts, and Bill (Jackie) Phillips of Virginia; and two sisters, Barbara Bagenstos and Margo Land, both of Billings. She is also survived by one daughter, V. Sharon (Jose) Rodriguez of Rifle, Colo.; and two sons, Walter (Joan) Scott and Robert Scott of Drakesville, Iowa; granddaughters, Brittny Mullen, Grand Junction, Stacy McCarthy, Rifle, Jenna Scott, Denver; grandsons, Walter (Angela) Scott, Singapore, Damon Scott, Drakesville, Kyle Scott, Denver; and four great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Virginia was married to George Scott for 40 years. She later married Harry Kelsey, who preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be conducted at the New Life Church on Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. in Billings.
