William Howard “Bill” Eaton passed from this earth to his heavenly home on April 6, 2019. His beloved wife Betty passed just 28 days earlier on March 9, 2019, leaving him heartbroken without his best friend at his side.
Bill entered this world in River Falls, Wisconsin, on Nov. 22, 1928, as one of eight kids born to George and Grace Eaton. His family later settled in the Big Timber area. It was here that Bill would meet and marry the love of his life, Betty Yost. They later moved to Billings, where Bill and his father-in-law Leonard Yost started the Eaton and Yost Construction Company, and later he and Betty bought into Pella Windows and Doors. Their sons would later take over the businesses.
Bill was a champion of hard, tireless work, and took great pride in everything he did, from contracting (which he did for over 64 years) to gardening and later ranching. He was a "passionate outdoorsman" who was most comfortable worshiping the Lord in Montana’s landscapes and always so thankful and appreciative of what God had created. These values have continued to pass on to his kids and grandkids.
You couldn’t say Bill without saying Betty — that’s just the way it was. They celebrated their 69th anniversary in November 2018. They inspired, encouraged, helped, served, loved and touched so many people in their life. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for your generous spirit. We love you and take great comfort knowing you are now together in heaven.
Surviving Bill are his children, Donnie Sexton (Ed) and their sons, Jed (Riann) and Tanner; Sheldon (Vicki) and their sons Dusty (Kara) and Dallas (Anna); Larry (Connie) and their kids, Hilarry (Peterson), Seth (Cassie); Logan (Kristin), Sedley (AJ), Meaghan (Cory); Bridger (April); Colter; Rod (Sandi) and their kids, Brianna, Rachael, Kyle, and Connor. In addition, there are 14 great-grandchildren and two on the way! Preceding Bill in death are his wife, Betty; his parents; his seven siblings; and grandson, Ryan.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Faith Chapel, 517 Shiloh Road in Billings. (Use Broadwater Entrance)
