A special song from Wayne

In the mid '60s, when I was 8 or 9 years old, my parents had a dinner party at our house, and a very important guest was invited - Wayne Newton!

My parents were good friends with the general manager of the fairgrounds, Bob Glasgow, and Wayne was scheduled to play at the fair.

I remember I was sick at the time of the party, so Wayne came downstairs to my bedroom and sang a song for me. I remember thinking it was pretty cool that a star actually came into my room and sang a song just for me.

He also autographed a program for me, which I still have.
