St. John's Lutheran Ministries, 3940 Rimrock Road: Stephanie Davis, director of music at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, leads worship at 7 p.m. in the Ocee Johnson Chapel.

City Church, corner of Lake Elmo Drive and Wicks Lane: A new 7 p.m. Sunday night service will start this week. A kickoff event, "If You Could Text God One Question," will invite participants to text questions during the service to Pastor Kalen Brown. He will respond to those questions after his sermon. The idea of the service is to encourage more of a dialogue, and encourage people who might not normally come to church to give it a try.

 

Wednesday

Rocky Mountain Gospel Hour, A Home for the Heart: A nondenominational evening of gospel music and song begins at 7 p.m. at the Cottonwood Theatre in Big Timber. Admission is $5 plus canned or dry items for the local food bank. For more information, call 406-932-6346 or 406-932-4227.

King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4125 Grand Ave.: The liturgy for the 8 p.m. Good Friday worship is an ancient, traditional Good Friday service, which includes the procession of a rough-hewn cross and a period of reverencing this life-giving cross. There is special music by the adult choir.

Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2336 St. Johns Ave.: There are Good Friday Tre Ore services at noon and 3 p.m.

St. Bernard's Parish, 226 Wicks Lane: St. Bernard's Pro-Life Walk and Meditations on Christ's Passion begins in the parking lot to join Yellowstone Christians for Life at 12:30 p.m. for a walk to Planned Parenthood. There are Rosary and Divine Mercy devotions at St. Bernard's immediately following the walk. The Good Friday service is at 7 p.m.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 119 N. 33rd St.: The Good Friday service is at noon.

Trinity Lutheran Church, 537 Grand Ave.: The Good Friday Tenebrae service begins at 7 p.m.

Saturday, April 23

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 40 10th St. W.: The Easter Vigil begins at 7 p.m. and includes baptism.

Easter egg hunt: The seventh annual Easter Egg Hunt is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lewis and Clark Middle School, 1325 Lewis Ave., hosted by Emmanuel Baptist Church. Kids will hunt for eggs based on their age group: birth-age 3 at 11:20 a.m.; age 4-kindergarten at 11:40 a.m.; first-third-graders at noon and fourth-sixth-graders at 12:20 p.m. The hunt is free, and there are also games, inflatables, food and prizes. King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4125 Grand Ave.: The Great Vigil of Easter (a 90-minute worship experience) begins at 8 p.m. The Vigil of Easter is the turning point of darkness to light within Holy Week. It is the oldest, richest and most sacred of liturgies. Within this liturgy, the church experiences with Christ the passage from death to life. Individual candles, Bible stories, affirming baptism and the first Holy Communion of Easter is celebrated.

St. Bernard's Parish, 226 Wicks Lane: An Easter celebration begins at 8 p.m. There will be no 5 p.m. Mass.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 119 N. 33rd St.: An Easter vigil begins at 5 p.m.

Faith: A Transforming Church, 3145 Sweetwater Drive: Easter egg hunt for children through fourth grade is at 10 a.m. An evening Easter service is at 5 p.m.

Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1108 24th St. W.: The film "The Passion of the Christ" is shown at 5 p.m., with prayer, reflection and discussion time following. No Saturday evening worship will be held.

Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1108 24th St. W.: Sunrise service with Holy Communion is at 6:30 a.m. Service of Holy Communion with music provided by the Yellowstone Brass is at 9 and 11 a.m. Easter breakfast is served by the youth from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. All funds raised will be matched by Thrivent for Christikon Camp scholarships. A movie matinee featuring "Tuesdays with Morrie" is at 3 p.m.

American Lutheran Church, 5 Lewis Ave.: Festival worship is at 8:30 and 11 a.m. Congregation youth serve breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m.

Peace Lutheran, 1301 Ave. D: Easter Festival worship with Holy Communion is at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Music will be provided by the Folk Group, adult choir, trumpet and bells. The youth serve breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m.

Hope United Methodist Church, 244 Wicks Lane: Sunrise service is at 6:30 a.m. on the front patio. Easter brunch is served from 7 to 10:15 a.m. Easter worship is at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. There will be no Sunday school.
