The Beartooth Ranger District on the Custer National Forest has issued a road closure for Crooked Creek Road (No. 2085) in the Pryor Mountains. The road is closed to motorized vehicles due to safety concerns while the road is being reconstructed.
The closure begins at the junction of Forest Service Road #2308, Sage Creek Road, and Crooked Creek Road, and extends south to the Forest Boundary. A map of the area and closure are available on the Custer National Forest's website.
The road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The road will be open after 5 p.m. during the week, and open every weekend and holiday. Reconstruction work will continue as long as weather permits this autumn, then resume in the spring until the work is completed. This project will provide continued and safe access for both the public and Forest Service administrative use on Crooked Creek Road.
Work will also improve water quality and fisheries habitat.
