As of Monday, the North Fork arm of Buffalo Bill Reservoir and the lower 28 miles of the North Fork Shoshone River and its tributaries are closed to fishing to protect spawning trout.

The closure includes a portion of the North Fork Shoshone River, its tributaries, and a portion of Buffalo Bill Reservoir. The North Fork Shoshone River, as well as its tributaries from, and including, Newton Creek downstream to Gibbs Bridge will be closed from April 1 through June 30. The North Fork arm of Buffalo Bill Reservoir from that portion lying west of a straight line connecting the mouths of Rattlesnake Creek and Sheep Creek (commonly known as Spring Creek) up the drainage to Gibbs Bridge will be closed April 1 through July 14.
