Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking comments on a draft environmental assessment proposing to stock largemouth bass and crappie in Big Casino Creek Reservoir south of Lewistown.

Big Casino Creek Reservoir covers 16 acres and contains several species of game fish, including a stunted yellow perch population.

The objective of the proposed fish stocking is to reduce the number of stunted perch, which would increase the size and quality of yellow perch. Adding largemouth bass and crappie would also provide a diversity of species for this fishery.

A draft EA on the proposed stocking is available for public viewing on the FWP website: http://fwp.mt.gov

On the website, go to public notices, then environmental assessments and species stocking. Comments can be sent to: FWP, Attn: Big Casino Creek Stocking, 215 W. Aztec Drive, P.O. Box 938, Lewistown, MT 59457.

Or, email comments to Clint Smith at clsmith@mt.gov.

Comments must be received by 5 p.m. on July 21.
