The rocks, fossils, landforms and other geologic highlights of an area that includes Yellowstone National Park, the Bighorn Basin, the Clark’s Fork Valley and the Absaroka and Beartooth mountains will be the subject of a talk by Bob Carson on June 15 in Cody, Wyo.
Carson will speak about the great geologic variety of the area at 6:15 p.m. in the Coe Auditorium at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. The talk is free and will be followed by a reception.

Carson has taught at North Carolina State University, the University of Oregon, and since 1975 at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash., where he is now the Phillips Professor of Geology and Environmental Studies.
