The stretch of the Big Hole River between Silver Bridge and Divide Bridge near Divide has reopened.

The closure went into effect July 12 to facilitate Butte-Silver Bow County's reconstruction of a diversion dam downstream of the Powerhouse Fishing Access Site.

The access site, just upstream of the diversion dam, was also closed in July to complete a major improvement project, including parking-lot expansion and installation of a concrete boat ramp and new latrine. The project is expected to be completed and the site reopened on Nov. 19. Until Powerhouse reopens, users can take out at George Grant Fishing Access Site on river right at river mile 57, or continue downstream to the Bureau of Land Management site at Divide Bridge on river right at mile 56.
