Beginning this January, the Montana Wilderness Association is offering 58 guided snowshoe walks across some of the state's most magnificent backcountry.

Now in its ninth season, MWA's Winter Wilderness Walks program offers hikers of all ages and experience levels an opportunity to enjoy Montana's winter beauty.

All outings are free and open to the public, but participants need to make reservations by contacting the hike leader. MWA will provide snowshoes for participants if necessary.

The complete 2012 Winter Wilderness Walks schedule can be found on the MWA website at www.wildmontana.org, by clicking on the "2012 Winter Wilderness Walks Schedule" link in the "What's New" column. Each walk can also be viewed on the MWA events calendar by following the "Events Calendar" link on the homepage.

For more information on the 2012 Winter Wilderness Walks, call the Montana Wilderness Association office in Helena at 406-443-7350.
