Four-year-old Djanelle Baier caught this green sunfish at Colstrip ponds on June 23. Her father, David Baier, mistook it for a bluegill and ate the fish. Someone on Facebook later told him that it was a green sunfish and may have topped the state record. The weight on the fish on a home scale was 15 ounces and it measured 10-inches long. The current record is 9-inches long and .84 pounds, or just a hair over 13 ounces.
