Technically, "Big City," off of Merle Haggard's 1981 album of the same name, is about Los Angeles. But the song relates the wishes of a narrator who is tired of life in the city, and wants to be relocated to "somewhere in the middle of Montana." Haggard has said that the song was based upon remarks made by Haggard's bus driver, who was not fond of Los Angeles and said he would prefer Montana. The song topped the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1982, and was featured in a scene in the 1995 film "Fargo."
