A man suspected of locking himself in a Popeyes restroom after shoplifting from Scheels was charged Tuesday with four felonies.
Jacob Simon Gore, 25, appeared in Yellowstone County Justice Court for a bond hearing on charges of robbery, two counts of assault with a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. He was also charged with misdemeanor theft.
Gore was held on a $100,000 bond and ordered placed on GPS monitoring prior to his release from jail.
A little before 8 p.m. on Friday, Gore was stopped by two loss prevention employees at Scheels, 1121 Shiloh Crossing Blvd. The employees had seen Gore putting things into a Nike lunchbox and was headed out of the store when the employees stopped him, according to charging documents.
Gore pulled out a gun and pointed it at one of the employees, before backing out of the store, according to charges. Gore ran into a nearby Popeyes restaurant and hid in the bathroom. Officers got customers and employees of out of the restaurant and ordered Gore out of the bathroom. Gore came out and officers arrested him, according to charges.
Officers later searched the bathroom and found several items from Scheels and a loaded semi-automatic Ruger pistol hidden in the paper towel holder, according to charges.
