Try 1 month for $5

A 24-year-old man who was charged for stealing two cars and crashing into a fence and a parked car while driving drunk has been sentenced in Yellowstone County District Court.

Solomon Wally Johnson was ordered to serve a six-year deferred sentence for felony criminal mischief.

Judge Russell Fagg on Tuesday also ordered Johnson to pay a $2,000 fine and restitution to two victims totaling about $20,645.

Johnson also was ordered to pay a $300 fine and serve concurrent 30-day jail terms for misdemeanor counts of DUI and driving without a valid license.

Johnson apologized. He said he has no memory of the incident.

"It was a booze-filled night, and honestly I don't remember anything, you honor," he said.

Johnson was charged for an incident on July 23, 2011, when he stole a vehicle that was later found stuck in a wire fence off Robin Street.

Johnson stole a second vehicle from a nearby residence, struck a parked car and then crashed through the same fence off Robin Street. The vehicle went down a gully and hit a tree.
