Be a winner National Library Week is April 14-20, and children may honor a favorite librarian in Harcourt Inc.'s drawing contest.

Entries go into a random drawing, and the winning librarian gets a piece of original artwork by Alexander Stadler from "Beverly Billingsly Borrows a Book" and an autographed copy of the book for the library.

The child who nominates the winning librarian gets an autographed copy of the book. Prizes also go to 110 more children and 110 librarian nominees.

Ages 18 or younger may enter by sending a postcard with the name of a favorite public or school library employee, the library or school name and library phone number. Include the entrant's name, address and phone number.

Entries must by received by April 19. Send them to: My Favorite Librarian Drawing; Harcourt Children's Books; 525 B St., Suite 1900; San Diego, Calif. 92101. One entry per child is allowed.

Library offers computer classes Parmly Billings Library offers free classes in the use of their computer system.

Upcoming classes include:

Library Catalog: This class covers the basics of using a mouse and keyboard and provides an introduction to the library's computer catalog, showing how to find materials in the library. The classes in April are at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, and at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16.

Magazine Index: Focusing on the full-text magazine databases, the class shows the various ways these can be searched. Class time is 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, either April 17 or April 24.

Internet Basics: If you are comfortable with a computer but have little experience with the Internet, the class teaches the basics of search engines and finding information. The Saturday classes are at 9 a.m. on April 13 and 27.
