Army Pvt. Christopher R. Landrie has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Landrie is the son of Leonard Landrie and Kelly Jensen, both of Billings. He is a 2008 graduate of West High.

Army Reserve Pvt. Edward J. Wick has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. He is the son of Edward and Mary Wick of Billings. He is a 2008 graduate of West High.

Air Force Airman Laci A. Kraft has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Kraft earned distinction as an honor graduate of the course. She is the daughter of Mark and Deanne Kraft of Billings. The airman is a 2008 graduate of Laurel High School.

Sens. Max Baucus and Jon Tester announced the names of two young Montanans chosen to participate in this year's U.S. Senate Youth Program. Samuel Hodges of Big Timber and Katherine Neher of Stevensville will represent Montana during the weeklong event in Washington, D.C., on March 7-14.
Edward Kent III, a 2005 graduate of Skyview, was named to the 2008 president's honor roll at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, with a 4.0 GPA.

Anthony Klee, the son of Lawrence and Karen Klee of Billings, was named to the fall quarter dean's list at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Idaho Banking Co. has named James C. Latta as its new president and chief executive officer. Latta, a 1970 graduate of West High, was previously CEO of First Bank of Idaho. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor's degree in business administration and he earned his master's degree at Arizona State University.
