Billings Mayor Chuck Tooley is accepting letters from people interested in filling the Ward 3 vacancy on the Billings City Council.

Councilwoman Jan Iverson announced recently that she plans to resign from the council by the end of the year to pursue business interests. Tooley said he has received applications from several people. Those interested in applying for the open seat should send him a letter of interest by Oct. 29. The applicant must be a resident of Ward 3 and a qualified voter.
The city charter requires the mayor to appoint a replacement member with the council's approval.
Those interested should send their resume and other documentation of their qualifications to the Mayor's Office, City Hall, P.O. Box 1178, Billings MT 59103-1178.
