The family of First Lt. Paul G. Magers, a Vietnam War casualty whose remains were recently returned to the United States for burial, has donated his personal military effects to the Yellowstone County Museum.
The artifacts went on display in a small exhibit and will remain up over the holidays. The museum is at 1950 Airport Terminal Circle. A reception is set for Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the museum.
The exhibit will include Magers' flight suit, photos and military medals, as well as documentation of his return home and his burial on Aug. 27 in the Yellowstone County Veterans Cemetery.
Magers enlisted in the Army in 1969 and was killed in action on June 1, 1971. His remains were not excavated until 2009 and they were positively identified only this year.
