A bicyclist was taken to to St. Vincent Healthcare this afternoon after a collision with a Montana Highway Patrol car.
Billings Police Sgt. Mitch Hart said that at 2:32 p.m., Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Richard Starks was westbound on State Avenue when he turned south onto Sugar Avenue. The front of his vehicle hit a bicycle, driven by a 19-year-old man whose name has not been released, just south of the intersection, Hart said.
The man was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent Healthcare to be treated for injuries that do not appear to be lfe-threatening, Hart said.
Hart said Starks did not see the bicyclist, and it wasn't immediately clear from which direction the cyclist came.
Billings Police are investigating the incident because a Montana Highway Patrol officer was involved.
No citations have been issued.
