The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust of Vancouver, Washington, recently awarded the Billings Community Foundation a three-year, $134,000 grant for the hiring of the local foundation's first-ever executive director.
According to a news release, the foundation will have to raise matching funds during the second and third years of the grant.

The M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, created by the will of the late Melvin J. (Jack) Murdock, provides grants to organizations in five states — Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Alaska.
