After a lengthy illness, Clifford R. (C.R.) Leverett, 75, of Billings died on March 12, 2019.
C.R. was born to Clifford and Billie Leverett of Rawlings, Wyoming, on Nov. 18, 1943. C.R. grew up in Wheatland, Wyoming where he began his broadcasting and radio career; in 1967 C.R. moved to Billings continuing his radio career and later went on to own Furniture Outlet and American Business Machines in the 80s. The last 28 years C.R. worked as a technician for Western Office Equipment.
C.R.’s love of cars spanned his life from drag racing to classic cars. C.R. was the President of the Roaring 20’s Classic Car Club for the last six years, and prior to that was the Vice President for two years. He loved participating in car shows where his cars won numerous awards. C.R. had a 1969 Rivera, 1962 Chrysler 300 and a 1956 Merc currently. Over the course of his life he owned more than 25 classic cars, his favorite being the 1956 Merc, ‘Lost in 50s’.
C.R. loved all things from the 50s and 60s from the cars to the music.
C.R. was preceded in death by his brother, John Leverett and his mother Billie Leverett. He is survived by the love of his life and wife, Josie Leverett; step-daughter, Tamie Folley; beloved dog ‘Buddy’; niece Allison Leverett; numerous cousins and family; and the best friends a man could have.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday March 16, 2019 at the Roaring 20’s Classic Car Club, 7400 Grand Avenue.
