Billings police apprehended a 20-year-old Billings man Saturday morning suspected of robbing a Zip Trip convenience store, fleeing the scene in his car, crashing and then running away.
Police responded to the robbery just after 6:45 a.m. at the Zip Trip at 2975 Grand Ave., said Billings Police Sgt. Justin Jagers.

He fled the scene in a maroon four-door passenger car. As officers responded to the area, they got another report of a car fitting that description that crashed into a house at 2095 17th Street West, Jagers said. An elderly female was in the residence at the time of the crash, but was not injured.
The suspect fled on foot and a witness saw him running eastbound on Parkhill Drive, carrying the shotgun. Officers responded to the area and set up a perimeter. The suspect was located and arrested after a short search of the area.
Officers recovered the weapon and merchandise. The suspect was booked into Yellowstone County jail for robbery, assault with a weapon and criminal endangerment.
