The body of a Columbus man killed by unknown attackers in Costa Rica was returned on Sunday to his family in Montana.
Attackers killed Kurt Randy Heigis, 64, around 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 on a gravel road about 2 ½ miles from the town of La Fortuna de San Carlos, according to Inside Costa Rica.
Joanna Mong, Heigis’ daughter, who lives in Billings, said Monday that funeral arrangements have not been completed and thanked community members for their support.

Costa Rican authorities have ruled out drugs as a factor in the killing of Heigis, who wintered in Costa Rica and owned a home in San Jose.
Mong said she has had no other updates on the investigation into her father’s death.
“So many questions, not enough answers,” she said.
