One man was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 west of Zoo Drive on Friday morning.

According to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Sampson, at about 9:45 a.m., a Dodge Neon driven by Leon Spaeth, 62, of Joliet, tried to pass a Ford F150 pickup driven by Melody Bilden, 62, of Joliet, in the westbound lanes near mile marker 441.

The car hit the truck and left the road, vaulting over a barbed wire fence, and landed in a large cottonwood tree.

Spaeth was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Bilden was not injured. Sampson said speed did not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating.
