The Spectrum call center in Billings will add 50 new jobs, the cable, internet and phone company announced Wednesday.
The “inside sales representative” jobs are customer service positions who will work on upgrades or changes in service for current Spectrum customers.
“They are the same jobs that are currently in operation at the call center now,” said company spokesman Bret Picciolo.
He said that the company has expanded hiring in call centers in the U.S. recently, especially since a series of mergers involving Charter Communications, which operates the Spectrum brand, but that this hiring effort is “specific to Billings.”

The Billings call center cut 70 positions about a year ago, eliminating jobs that handled video repair calls. Those employees were offered other jobs at the call center.
Picciolo declined to say how many stayed, saying that the company doesn’t share personnel information. He did say that the company had planned to maintain or expand other sales representative jobs at the time.
The new hiring spate will be channeled through monthly hiring events, beginning June 3 at the Spectrum Office at 1860 Monad Road from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Picciolo said the monthly events will continue through the end of the year, and also include other open positions that need to be back-filled.
