Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yellowstone County will host its 2019 Feel the Love Gala at the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton on Friday, Feb. 15. The gala is the largest event hosted by BBBSYC each year and supports the organization’s mission of making a positive impact in Yellowstone County through mentoring.
“The need in Yellowstone County for young people to have a role model is more urgent than ever,” said Dave and June Anderson, 2019 Feel the Love event chairs. “Across Yellowstone County, more than 35 children are waiting to be matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yellowstone County was founded in 1974. According to a news release from the organization, its evidence-based mentoring programs are designed to create positive, measurable outcomes for youth, including educational success, avoidance of risky behaviors, higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships.
This year’s event will feature live and silent auctions; Bigs of the Year awards; and keynote speaker Judge Mary Jane Knisely of the District Court in Yellowstone County. Also featured will be the Fund-A-Match Campaign to help reach the goal of matching the more than 35 “Littles” in our community waiting on a mentor.
