A fire call at Montana State University Billings on Thursday afternoon turned out to be a false alarm.

At about 2:30 p.m., two Billings Fire Department engines responded to McMullen Hall, where firefighters found the fire alarm going off but no other problems, Battalion Chief Tim McLeod said.

University relations spokeswoman Debbie Brown said McMullen Hall is under construction and that it appears some dust got into one of the building's sprinkler heads, causing the alarm to go off. Because the building is under construction, not many people were inside at the time of the alarm.
