Early morning accident kills 1, injures another
Billings police and Montana Highway Patrol officers investigate the scene of what was reported to be a fatal accident off of I-90 early Tuesday. A red sports car left the east bound lane of the interstate, crashed through a fence and damaged the sign for Yellowstone Polaris and Recreation at 5179 Midland Road just after midnight.

A 19-year-old man was killed and another man injured in a one-vehicle on Interstate 90 at Billings early this morning.

According to the Highway Patrol, a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse was eastbound on the interstate when the vehicle went into a roll. The vehicle traveled across a barrow pit, through a fence and vaulted off a pile of dirt and hit a sign. The vehicle flipped end-over-end before landing, facing southbound, on its wheels, according to the patrol.

The accident happened about 12:20 a.m. at mile marker 446.7, near Yellowstone Polaris.

The patrol reported that alcohol was a factor in the accident.

The 21-year-old man injured in the accident was taken to St. Vincent Healthcare, according to the patrol, which did not release the name of either victim.
