A pickup truck crashed into a building in downtown Billings early Friday, breaking a gas line and starting a fire.

Billings firefighters doused the fire at Big Sky Collision Center at 315 N. 15th St. just after 2 a.m.

The 1980 Ford pickup truck struck the gas line when it crashed into the building in the alley between the business and the Wild West Saloon at 1516 Fourth Ave. N.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire involving the pickup and the building. The fire caused minor damage to the building and heavy damage to the truck, said Jeff McCullough, deputy fire marshal. The business is insured, while the vehicle's insurance is unknown. Damages are estimated at $20,000 for the vehicle and building.

A Billings Police Department news release said that officers located the occupants of the pickup nearby and they were treated for minor injuries. An investigation is continuing.
