First Interstate Bank has pledged a multiyear donation to the Better Billings Foundation for its "Pool Together" initiative.
The foundation hopes to raise $4 million to construct an aquatic facility, community center and landscaped open space at Sahara Park in the Heights.
"It is the wishes of First Interstate Bank officials not to disclose the amount of the contribution, but it is a significant contribution to help make this project a reality," Chuck Barthuly, Better Billings Foundation executive director, said in a news release.

"Our corporate culture has always been to give back to communities served by First Interstate banks," said Phillip Hammond, president of First Interstate Bank-Heights. "We believe this initiative will greatly enrich the lives of children, youth and families throughout the greater Billings area and represents an investment that will make our community an even better place to live, work, recreate and raise our families."
The foundation said more than 75 percent of its pledge target has been met.
