Keynote speaker Bayard Forrest will share stories from his time in pro basketball and in ministry in Africa and throughout the world at the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast at the Northern Hotel on May 2, the National Day of Prayer.

Forrest was a three-time All-American at Grand Canyon University before turning down a guaranteed contract in the NBA, opting to instead play for Athletes in Action, the sports ministry of Cru Ministries (formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ). He then played three years with the Phoenix Suns until a back injury forced his early retirement.

According to information from Word of Life Fellowship, after his time in basketball, Forrest has been a youth pastor, a missionary in Africa, and currently speaks at conferences and churches all over the world.

Doors open at 6 a.m., with breakfast at 6:30 a.m., and program from 7 to 8 a.m. The Northern Hotel is at 19 N. Broadway Ave.

Tickets are $22.50. Tables for eight are $160. Tickets and more information are available online at billingsprayerbreakfast.com.
