GARDINER — The Gardiner Chamber of Commerce recently announced plans for this year’s Hell’s A-Roarin’ Horse Drive.
Since 1982, Hell’s A-Roarin’ Outfitters kicks off summer by driving its herd to their summer location in Jardine, nine miles north of Gardiner. The drive begins at the Gardiner Rodeo Grounds and continues up the Jardine Road until it reaches the Hell’s A-Roarin’ Ranch. A barbecue dinner, raffle and auction, dancing, and live music follow.
This year’s event is planned for Saturday, May 25. Spectators will have the opportunity to view the horses at the Gardiner Rodeo Grounds from noon to 1 p.m. Then, the horses will leave the rodeo grounds and the outfitters will drive the 300 animals through Scott Street in downtown Gardiner. The Jardine Rodeo Grounds will host a dance with live music by the Fall River Boys, Adrian Buckaroogirl, and Wylie and the Wild West. Other entertainment will include a female bronc rider, an art auction with over 60 pieces of original art and raffles.
The event raises money for area nonprofit organizations. Tickets, available at the gate, cost $25 for ages 17 and older, and $20 ages 16 and younger.
