Thirty-six hours after Billings wrapped up the 23rd annual Harley Owners Group Rally, tourism promoters announced another invasion of two-wheeled vehicles. The Gold Wing Road Riders Association's 29th annual Wing Ding will take place in Billings July 4-7, 2007, at MetraPark.
The Wing Ding is expected to bring up to 14,000 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle owners to Billings. It will be the third time in 10 years that the Wing Ding has been held in Billings.
"I believe our members are excited by our decision to return to Billings in 2007," said GWRRA's Executive Director Don Brock. "The citizens of Billings have been among the most welcoming of all our host cities, and the riding to and from Billings is some of the best we encounter anywhere."
John Brewer, president of the Billings Area Chamber of Commerce, said Billings is gaining a reputation as welcoming host for conventions.

"We make our guests feel important," Brewer said Monday morning at a news conference featuring more than a dozen Gold Wing motorcycles.
Brewer said Billings is becoming an easy sell for groups such as the Gold Wing owners, the Harley riders and the Family Motor Coach Association.
The last time Billings hosted the Wing Ding in 2000, the group had discussed the possibility of not coming back because motel rooms were in short supply. But the addition of many new motels makes Billings a more attractive destination, he said.
