Good Earth Market and the Downtown Billings Association are planning an Earth Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday at the store, 3024 Second Ave. N.
Featuring local earth-friendly and community-oriented organizations, the celebration also will feature live music by Justin Johnson and performances by the New Day Drum Group at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. The New Day Drum Group will perform American Indian drum pieces, along with song and dance.
These local producers will be among those sampling and selling their goods: Negaard Greenhouse, Wholesome Foods and B Bar Ranch.
Local organizations planning to attend include: Montana Conservation Voters, Audubon Society, Global Village, Yellowstone Naturopathic Clinic, Billings Cultural Partners, the BID Clean and Safe Street Team and the Northern Plains Resource Council.
Herb Welch will show off his electric Ford Ranger.
Danly Farms of Laurel will host a workshop on organic gardening from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The session, called "New Age Gardening with Old Age Ways," will teach basic organic gardening skills.
Good Earth Market will serve a barbecue chicken lunch outside under the tents from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., with a full menu and vegetarian entrée offered inside.
