Angelo Bianco is the latest candidate to file in the City Council election.
He is running in Ward 1, for the seat that Jim Ronquillo will be giving up at the end of the year because of City Charter term limits.
Bianco, who is retired from active service in the military, lived in Briarwood, also in Ward 1, until he moved Neptune Boulevard in the Heights in January.
That would have put him in Ward 2 until just recently, when the City Council redrew ward boundaries to make them more equal in population.
Bianco said he wouldn't have run in Ward 2 because he knows and respects both Ward 2 council members, Angela Cimmino and Denis Pitman.
Cimmino is running for a second term on the council, and Pitman's term expires in 2015. In Ward 1, Bianco is the only candidate so far.
If there are five or more candidates in any one race or four candidates in more than half the races, there will be a primary election on Sept. 10. The general election is set for Nov. 5.
