Drawings of a new Parmly Billings Library will be unveiled Thursday at a meeting of City Council members, the Library Board and the Parmly Billings Library Foundation.

Architect Will Bruder will present the exterior renderings during the meeting, which begins at 12:30 p.m. on the third floor of the downtown library.

Leslie Modrow, foundation development director, said the foundation will hold two meetings next week to gather public comments on the drawings. Those meetings will be at 4 and 7 p.m. on Tuesday on the third floor of the library.

The foundation received a $2 million donation from an unnamed donor to pay for the design work, and foundation officials hope to raise more money for the project. City officials are planning to put a bond measure on the ballot in the fall to pay for the rest.

The city could ask for a bond issue of up to $14 million, but library officials think the final amount will be less once private donations are collected.
