The Billings City Council met Monday night in closed session to evaluate City Administrator Tina Volek, whose two-year contract expires at the end of the year.
Councilwoman Jani McCall, who is leading the evaluation process, said the council plans to offer Volek another two-year contract before the end of the year.
McCall said council members and city department heads filled out an evaluation form on Volek, and the council discussed the results on Monday night. Volek was also asked to fill out a self-evaluation.
“It has come together nicely and we want to get this wrapped up before the end of the year,” McCall said. “In general, the comments coming in are good. There are a couple areas we'd like to see some improvements, but I think we want to move forward with another contract.”
McCall said the council will meet with Volek in closed session next Monday night to discuss the results, with the council set to vote on a new contract on Dec. 20.
Volek requested that her evaluation process be closed to the public, but her proposed contract will be available for public review before the council votes on it.
McCall said the council hadn't discussed any salary changes yet.
