Montana State University-Billings Library will host a free training session for anyone interested in grant seeking for nonprofit organization.
The workshop will be presented by Kief Schladweiler, a librarian at the Foundation Center in New York, and takes place at 1 p.m. Friday in the first-floor classroom in the MSU-B Library.
The Foundation Center is one of the nation's most authoritative sources of information on private philanthropy. The training session will offer tips and suggestions on how best to identify funding sources for a nonprofit organization and will cover the basics of grant seeking for nonprofit organizations, highlighting the resources of the Foundation Center's database, the Foundation Directory Online Professional.
The searchable database covers more than 80,000 grant makers and contains a database of more than a half-million grant records that grant seekers may use to identify potential funders.
